Gyaneshwar Vatsyayan (born 25 October 1970) is a senior Journalist [1] from Bihar who covers topics pertaining to Crime in Bihar. He started his career from Amrit Varsha in 1987 as University Reporter[2]. In 1989, he joined Aaj Newspaper (Patna) as University reporter [3].
Early life and education
Gyaneshwar Vatsyayan was born in Fatuha, Bihar on 25 October 1970. He did his schooling from Fatuha high school. Later he moved to Patna for higher studies. He graduated (Bachelor of Commerce) from Vanijya Mahavidyala Patna and post graduated (Master of Commerce) from Patna University.
Personal life
He was born to Late Chandawati Devi and Late Ambika Prasad Pandey in Fatuha Patna Bihar. He is married to Anamika and they have two daughters and one son.
Career
He started his career with Amrit Varsha in 1987 as a University Reporter. In 1989, he joined Aaj News Paper (Patna) again as University Reporter. Later in 1990's he was promoted as Crime Reporter for Aaj. He investigated the Chitrita Mehata case who was married to Narayan Yadav (Urban Development Minister). Chitrita Mehta was abducted by a RJD leader's son. The Minister was unable to attend Vidhan Sabha, he was attacked by RJD mob.
Brahmeshwar Mukhiya Case
Brahmeshwar Singh Brahmeshwar Mukhiya was the founder and leader of Ranvir Sena. Gyaneshwar had interviewed Bramheshwar Mukhiya first time in the history[4].
Shri Prakash Shukla Case
Shri Prakash Shukla was the man behind the murder of Ex Minister Brij Bihari Prasad who was accused in Medha Ghotala [5]. Brij Bihari Prasad was in Judicial Custody at IGIMS. On 12th June, it was reported by Gyan that Shri Prakash Shukla is in Patna and anything can happen. The next day, on 13th June, Brij Bihari Prasad was murdered by Shri Prakash Shukla [6]. In Bihar, Special Task Force (STF) was formed after this case [7].
On 12th April 2000, Gyan joined Dainik Jagran. He was the first Bihari Journalist to the news paper in Patna. He was also the core member of launching team. In 2002, he was promoted and designated to Dainik Jagran Ranchi office. In 2009 he became Resident Editor[8] for Dainik Jagran Siliguri. In 2011, he left conventional media and started working with Social Media. He started his own firm iCon Imaging Pvt. Ltd. In 2014, he started another firm Live Cities Media Pvt. Ltd. [9]. This is the first organized digital media platform with 41 website in Patna Bihar.
