Gypsy Bernadette Carter (February 7, 1942 – December 12, 2018) was an American singer, actress, composer and singer-songwriter.
She died in St. Louis, Missouri on December 12, 2009, at the age of 67.
Life[edit]
Carter was born in Springfield, Missouri, the youngest of six children born to Jo Carrie Shanks (1906–2003) and Henry Carter (1901–1954). She and her siblings, June (1944–2021), Katy (1935–2018), Carl (1929–2004), Harold (1931–2009) and Ted (1938–2015) became famous in their hometown for their musical talent and performances. The siblings sang and could play a number of instruments. Gypsy's father died of a heart attack on January 27, 1954, before Gypsy's 12th birthday. Just after her father's death, She and her siblings are having their first album. In December 21, 1965.
