Hüseyin Arif Çakmak (born 1975) is a Turkish businessman, journalist and editor-in-chief for İstiklal newspaper.[1][2][3][4]
Biography[edit]
Huseyin, the chairman of the board of directors of Turkuaz Group and İstiklal newspaper, was born in 1975 and received PhD in Political Science.[5][6]
For the first time in 2005, he gave the Turkish state information about the Gulen Group with his association with the CIA[7] then Huseyin was imprisoned for about nine months with the conspiracy of prosecutors and judges.[8][9]
Hüseyin Çakmak, is a businessman and journalist known for Nationalism identity, and has approximately 2000 employees within the group of companies.[10]
Armed attack on İstiklal Newspaper in İstanbul[edit]
In a May 2021 attempted armed attack on the central office of the İstiklal Newspaper in İstanbul's Zeytinburnu district, the assaulter went to the newspaper yesterday entered the room of Editor-in-Chief Hüseyin Arif Çakmak and demanded 2 million lira from him.[11]
Following the raid in İstanbul, the assaulter was referred to the court to be arrested. However, he has been released.
