Henry Bruce Garlock (1897–1985), was a missionary in Africa, first with the Pentecostal Holiness Movement and then with the Assemblies of God.[1]

His experiences with the Pahns, a canabalistc tribe in Liberia,[2] were described in his memoir, Before We Kill and Eat You,[3] written in 1974. He was married to Ruth Trotter Garlock (1897–1997) and together they served as missionaries in Ghana, Liberia and Malawi.[4] He eventually became the first field director in charge of Africa for the Assemblies of God, and was a missionary for over 60 years.[5]
