H2O Asset Management is an investment boutique offering global macro, fixed income, and equity investment strategies. The firm offers strategies through separately managed portfolios and mutual funds. Clients include institutional clients (pension funds, sovereign wealth funds), as well as private banks, financial advisors, and retail investors. The company is headquartered in the Mayfair district, in the center of London, UK. In terms of investment philosophy, H2O AM uses a risk-budgeting approach.[1]
History
H2O Asset Management started its operations in July 2010. The company was founded by Bruno Crastes and Vincent Chailley, who previously worked together at Crédit Agricole Asset Management. The asset management boutique launched its first global macro strategies investing in FX, government bonds, credit, and equities.
In 2017, H2O AM launched a range of interest rate products called Barry funds. The funds are domiciled in Ireland.[2] In late 2017, H2O AM took a strategic participation in Poincaré Capital Management, a Hong Kong-based boutique. It also bought a majority stake in Artic Blue Capital, a commodity-focused investment manager.
In 2018, H2O AM signed an agreement with Quadra Capital Partners to develop new alternative strategies.[3]
H2O AM employs more than 50 individuals. The main shareholder of H2O AM is Ostrum Asset Management. The remainder of the capital is owned by employees.
