HDBuzz is a website that supplies news about Huntington's disease research in plain language.[3] The site was co-founded by Huntington's disease researchers Edward Wild and Jeff Carroll[1] and was funded by various nonprofits.[4] In 2014 one of the site's funders won a "discretionary award" from the judges for the Association of Medical Research Charities' Science Communication Award; the award notice said that it was given to the funder "for its HDBuzz website, which explains the latest Huntington's disease research in plain, understandable language. In addition to research articles, the website also publishes information to put sensationalised 'miracle cures' into a realistic context."[5]
