HELLSEED: Chapter 1 is a horror videogame developed by italian Profenix Studio Srls for Microsoft Windows platform.

Plot[edit]

The game takes place in Italy, more precisely in province of Turin, mostly in the house of a missed psychiatrist. The player plays a detective, Lucio Toscani, tasked with investigating the missing of the known doctor Angelo De Santis. While in the house the detective will face up with various villains, ghost entities and paranormal activities that seems to make no sense at first.

But in the end, the detective will discover the terrible truth behind the doctor's disappearance.

Gameplay[edit]

HELLSEED: Chapter 1 is basically an action-adventure with puzzles.

During the game it is necessary for the player to complete subsequent objectives, hide from enemies and monsters, solve puzzles and collect documents to find out what happened to the doctor and what is the reason behind which these strange people and entities begin to haunt him.

Features[edit]

As stated by Profenix Studio and showed into the recently published demo, the game features a photorealistic graphics thanks to their propretary engine S2Engine HD..[1]

The game is inspired partly by classic Dario Argento Italian horror movies and partly by the great horror classics of 80s like The Exorcist and Evil Dead.[2]

The game features a well-structured inventory used for collecting items and documents. The player has to choose the right inventory items for solving puzzles and often it is necessary to inspect them accurately to acquire important information for the continuation of the game.

At some points in the game, the player faces monsters and villains and he must flee and hide while completing an objective.

Release[edit]

In December 2019 Profenix Studio announced that the game was in development for Microsoft Windows.[3] [4]

In March 2020 Profenix Studio released the first teaser trailer of the game.[5]

In June 2020 Profenix Studio announced that HELLSEED participated to Steam Game Festival with a playable demo. [6]

The demo remained downloadable after the Steam Game Festival.

The released date is planned to be, in early access on Steam, the end of October 2020.
