History[edit]
As a Envy sub-line[edit]

Redesigns[edit]
Former design was all-rounded and similar to Envy predecessor.[3]
Massive redesign in 2016[4][5] (with sleek and partially rounded case), refresh in 2017[6] and massive redesign in 2018 (with sharp cutted edges).
Design[edit]
The Spectre is a thin-and-light line, oriented for everyday productivity and with moderate overall performance. The early Envy-based Spectre laptops can have a 2.5" HDD/SSD option and one ram slot[7].
After further redesigns all Spectre laptops can have only 1 storage (m.2 SSD) slot, and most of basic laptops components were soldered to mainboard. Non-user-replaceable battery, but typically good battery life, poor port selection, mediocre input quality, buttonless touchpads, optional pen input for some models.
