Habib Miyan
Habib Miyan born as Rahim Khan (1869 (claimed) – 19 August 2008), of Rajasthan, Jaipur, India, was an Indian man who claimed to have lived to 138 years of age.[1][2] He holds the Guinness World record for the Longest retirement pension,[3] and the Limca Book of Records for the oldest man of Jaipur.[4] His age is certified as "over 120 years" in the Limca book's 2005 edition.[5]
His birth date is mentioned as May 20, 1878 in his pension book.[5] Miyan said he had been using these documents since he was discharged from the army in 1938 to claim a pension, thus also making him the "world's longest-registered" old-age pensioner.[3] Miyan became the oldest Hajj pilgrim to visit Mecca in 2004, after benefactors donated funds to underwrite the trip.[6]
Habib Miyan was named as the 'Aabe-e-Jaipur', ('Lustre of Jaipur') by the mayor of Jaipur. The Telegraph had reported that Rajasthan State AIDS Control Society of the Government of Rajasthan had selected Miyan as "an icon for a long, healthy life in the era of HIV and AIDS."[1]
