Hacktivist Vanguard (HV) is an Indian hacker organization founded on January 26, 2023, by Santhosh Kumar. The group is known for its involvement in various cyber operations targeting educational institutions, government websites, and entities in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Egypt , Malaysia and Indonesia.

Hacktivist Vanguard has been involved in Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks, website defacements. According to Radware, Pakistan has been one of the most frequently attacked countries, primarily by Indian hacktivists, including Hacktivist Vanguard.[1][2]

As reported by ProPakistani in an article titled "Govt Issues Financial Sector Cyber Security Advisory As Threats Rise," the group has claimed responsibility for attacks on Pakistan's .gov.pk domain and critical websites across various sectors, including government, defense, aviation, and banking.[3][4][5] These attacks have been coupled with disinformation campaigns, causing significant disruption and confusion among Pakistan's government agencies, educational institutions, and public services.[6][7]

As per Cyfirma, Hacktivist Vanguard is also known for targeting allies of Palestine in their cyber operations.[8] These activities are part of a broader trend where Indian hacktivist groups engage in cyber-attacks against other countries' cyberspaces, prompting counterattacks from targeted nations.[8] This cycle of retaliation reflects a growing trend of hacktivist activities resembling a virtual conflict between nations.
