Haji Muhammad Mohsin Government High School(Bengali: হাজী মুহম্মদ মুহসীন সরকারি উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়) is a historical secondary school located in Rajshahi city. Although it was initially established as a Madrasha (Islamic Educational Institution)[2] [3]
History[edit]
Haji Muhammad Mohsin Government High School is one of the oldest institutions in Bangladesh.It was the first Rajshahi Madrasha to be established in Rajshahi in 1874 to spread Muslim education in ancient India which is now Haji Muhammad Mohsin Government High School.The size of this institution is about 22 acres. Nawab Abdul Latif,the Landlord of North Bengal, made a special request to the English ruler Sir George Campbell for an educational institution. The organization stands on the land donated by Haji Muhammad Mohsin. And Haji Muhammad Mohsin Government High School was established with the help of Mohsin Fund. Now it has been renamed in Haji Muhammad Mohsin Government High School.[4][5]
Infrastructure[edit]
At present Haji Muhammad Mohsin Government High School has an air-conditioned mosque, student hostel, 3 academic buildings, an administrative building, library, debate club, 3 multimedia classrooms and computer labs, science laboratory, Shahid Minar, pond, staff quarters etc. The administrative building of Haji Muhammad Mohsin Government High School is one of the oldest architecture in Rajshahi.
