Hallspot
Hallspot was a marketing platform for small businesses to market to the college student demographic. Hallspot was founded by Sean Thorne, a student at the University of Oregon at the time in 2012. Now headquartered in the Pearl District of Portland, Ore., Hallspot has raised $1M in seed funding.
Hallspot is currently available at some universities, including Arizona State University, Chico State University, Gonzaga University, Portland State University, Oregon State University, University of California, Berkeley, University of Oregon and University of Washington, with plans to take the platform nationwide. While Hallspot markets towards college students, anyone can use the Hallspot app.
A beta version of the Hallspot app for iOS launched at the University of Oregon in September 2013, which initially featured social features, including photo upload capabilities. Hallspot has been recognized by several news sources and the University of Oregon's Lundquist College of Business.
