Early life and education[edit]

Knížová relocated to London in 2010, where she pursued and completed a master's degree in photography at the London College of Communication.[citation needed]

Career[edit]

In 2013 she won the John Kobal New Work Award from the National Portrait Gallery, London in 2013, for her portrait of identical twins Elza and Nellie. This award highlighted her 'Family Matters' series, underscoring her deep interest in the dynamics between twins and broader family narratives.[1]

Her work appeared in the 2013 Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize at the National Portrait Gallery.[2][3]

In 2018, she was named as Photographer of the Year in the Czech Grand Design Awards.[4] Her portrait of Olivia Colman, commissioned as part of the John Kobal New Work Award and showcased at the National Portrait Gallery is included in the Gallery's permanent collection.[5]

Her project on Hollywood Hopefuls, as featured in the Daily Mail, highlighted her ability to capture the aspirations and vulnerabilities of youth. She told CNN, "I was specifically interested in snapping pictures of young people aspiring for the big time." The Arts Desk praised her ability to capture the essence of young ambition.[6][7][8]

Knížová has worked with fashion brands such as Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Hugo Boss, Levi Strauss & Co. and her editorial work has appeared in publications like Dazed & Confused, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Tatler, The Telegraph.[citation needed]

She photographed the cover for the December 2023 issue of Vogue Czech.[9]
