Hanne Mjøen is a Norwegian artist and songwriter, known for her synth- and Scandinavian- pop music.

Career[edit]

Hanne Mjøen already started making music from a young age, but it was in 2017 when she announced herself in her home territory with her singles U, The City, and Future. All singles were nearly immediately playlisted on Norway's national radio broadcaster, NRK P3.[1]. After that, her career really took off. She secured herself a place as supporting act for Astrid S' world tour when Astrid performed in Norway. Later, she performed her very-first live shows at festivals such as by:Larm, Trondheim Calling, vill vill vest,Findings Festival, and Slottsfjell [1]

After having success with her song Sounds Good To Me, she got fed up with how the ‘major’ music industry worked. She broke with her former label, Spinnin' Records and started doing her own thing.

After finishing her EP cycle with Sturla, Hanne wanted to focus on her solo career. She singed with SNSD Records, a sub-label of V2 Records, and started working towards her first solo EP [2]. Leading up she released on April 23rd, 2021, the single “Hell With You”. The song narrates what it feels like to fall out of love but not wanting to leave for the fear of never falling in love again. She describes it as, “You want to leave knowing this isn’t “it” for you, but you're scared of being alone, and not ready to give it up.” [2] The track is an upbeat, dreamy, electro-pop.

Her most recent single is “Emotional Fever”, which tells a tale of having an emotional battle. The term fever in this song is explained by Mjøen as, “One moment it feels like forever, and the next you get a panic attack and you just want to leave. And it feels like a fever because of the sudden changes you have no control over.” [3] [4] The song was written by Olivia Sebastianelli, Toby Scott, and Hanne herself [5] and entails some sonic similarities with Never Really Over by Katy Perry and Love You Like That (Dagny song).
