Hanspeter Ammann
Hanspeter Ammann (born 1953 in Zurich, Switzerland) is a Swiss video artist, photographer, and trained Freudian psychoanalyst.[1] He is considered one of the early pioneers of video art in German-speaking Europe.[2]

Ammann began producing video art in the late 1970s, becoming one of the first artists in the German-speaking world to explore this medium.[2] His works often explore themes of identity, emotional states, and interpersonal relationships, combining psychoanalytic concepts with visual experimentation. His videos have been shown internationally in museums, galleries, festivals, and on television.[1]
In addition to his artistic career, Ammann has worked as a psychoanalyst since 1992.[1] He studied political science and pedagogy in Zurich between 1976 and 1979 and later attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 1981 to 1986.[1]
Shanghai Studio
From 2005 to 2015, Ammann operated the Shanghai Studio, an independent art space in Shanghai that combined a gallery, event venue, and bar. The project served as a cultural meeting point and experimental platform for local and international artists.[1]
