Hardik Himanshu Varma (born 14 December 2000) is an Indian cricketer who plays domestic cricket for Arunachal Pradesh. A left-handed batter and slow left-arm orthodox bowler, he made his first-class debut in the 2024–25 Ranji Trophy Plate League and later appeared in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy during the same season.[1][2]
Early life and youth career
Varma was born in Nagpur, Maharashtra.[1] He came through the Vidarbha Cricket Association system, representing Vidarbha in the Raj Singh Dungarpur Trophy (Under-14) where he finished as the highest wicket-taker for his team. He went on to play for Vidarbha in the Under-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy.[3]
He also represented RTM Nagpur University in the All India Inter-University Cricket Tournament held in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, where his team emerged runners-up and secured the silver medal.[4]
Domestic career
Varma made his first-class debut for Arunachal Pradesh against Nagaland on 10 October 2024 in the Ranji Trophy Plate League. He took 1/120 in 33 overs in the match.[5] In his second first-class appearance, he claimed his maiden five-wicket haul with figures of 5/77 against Mizoram.[6]
