Hardy Hartono (born in Barnet, London, England, November 16, 1983) is an Indonesian actor. Hardy is known for his roles as Tantra in Fathiyah or Wali in Kitab Cinta. Hardy began his career on the 2007 television series Aqso dan Madina and in addition to his work in television series, he has featured in such films as Negeri 5 Menara [1] Archived October 24, 2012, at the Wayback Machine (2011), Pengantin Topeng (2010).[1] [2]
Early life
Hardy was born in London, England, and raised in the town of Barnet. He later moved to Jakarta, Indonesia. Hardy graduated from SMU Negeri 34 Jakarta. He then entered Trisakti University and Next Academy, both of which were influential to him.[1]
Career
Hardy started as a model but soon turned his career into an actor. Hardy's first credited appearance was in the television series Aqso dan Madina in 2007.
In 2009, after doing a few commercials and local telemovies, Hardy appeared in Not For Sale. He then landed a lead role in the movie Pengantin Topeng. After filming wrapped, he then played Wali in the Malaysian television series Kitab Cinta. He then played Tantra in the 2010 Indonesian series Fathiyah. He also starred in the 2011 Malaysian telemovie Baju Raya Punya Pasal for Astro. Hardy reprised the role of Wali in the 2011 Kitab Cinta the Telemovie. Also that year, he filmed one of the biggest novel adaptations of that year, Negeri 5 Menara[3] and appeared in the video clip Kilafairy Pasti.[4]
In 2012, Hardy appeared in the Indonesian series Berbagi Cinta, co-starring Bunga Citra Lestari. The following year, he appeared in the Malaysian telemovie from TV3, Baju Raya Punya Pasal co-starring Nora Danish. He next starred in an Indonesian television series with Chelsea Olivia and Dinda Kanya Dewi, Cinta Itu Anugerah. He also appeared in the Ungu video clip Doa Untuk Ibu.[5]
In 2015, he appeared in the Indonesian series Cinta Di Langit Taj Mahal 2[6] and Cinta di Kampung Haji. In 2016, Hardy starred in Net TV's Drama Queen as Pierre, and the following year he starred in the Malaysian movie Sindiket with Daphne Iking and Shariah Amani, directed by Bade Hj. Azmi.[7]
In 2017, Hardy focused on his YouTube channel and vlog, collaborating with Samuel Rizal and Didi Riyadi.
Personal life
Hardy is a fan of Arsenal Football Club, as he grew up in North London, and a die-hard fan of the New York Knicks basketball club. After finishing college, Hardy moved to Japan and lived there for a while.
