Harinder Rana
Harinder Rana is an American music industry executive. He currently serves as Senior Director of A&R at Lava Records/Universal Republic Records.
Rana is credited for signing and developing international pop star Jessie J alongside founder and President of Lava Records, Jason Flom. Flom credits Rana for tracking down Jessie J in the UK near Christmas of 2008. At the time, Jessie J's management was preventing her from speaking directly with interested record labels.[1] Rana oversaw the entire recording process of her debut album Who You Are, which has now sold over 2 million copies worldwide and achieved Platinum certification in multiple countries.[2]
Rana signed singer/dancer CJ Holland to Lava Records in early 2011. Under Rana's development, Holland began recording his debut album shortly afterward. His reception within the industry has been enthusiastic, particularly among leading artists and publishers.
In 2011, Rana was featured in Billboard Magazine's coveted 30 Under 30 list, citing young power players in the music industry. Flom is quoted saying "[Rana] has developed a reputation as one of the most respected young executives in the business." [3]
