Lydia Liebman
Lydia Liebman is an American media strategist and arts administrator based in New York City. She is the founder and president of Lydia Liebman Promotions, a public relations and media agency focused on jazz and creative music. In 2021 she was included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for music.[1]
Early life and education
Liebman is the daughter of saxophonist Dave Liebman and oboist and educator Caris Visentin Liebman.[1] She studied communications at Emerson College in Boston, where she began working in music and media.[2]
Career
Liebman founded Lydia Liebman Promotions while still a student at Emerson College.[2] The agency has represented a range of jazz and creative musicians. According to DownBeat, her clients have included saxophonist Lakecia Benjamin, pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba, and vocalist Catherine Russell.[2]
She teaches at the School of Jazz and Contemporary Music at The New School in New York City.[3] In 2021, she appeared on The Jazz Session podcast to discuss her work in the music industry.[4]
Personal life
Liebman is married to drummer Willy Rodriguez.[5] Rodriguez has performed on The Mars Volta's self-titled album (2022)[6] and on Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos del Vacío (2025).[7][5]
