Dr. Harsha Kharkwal[2] is an Indian Scientist, working in the field of Natural Products Chemistry. She has established herself as an early-career leader in the emerging field in a short span of time. She has done significant research work in the field of Applied Carbohydrate and Natural Product Chemistry and has published more than 55 research papers[3] in journals of repute, books and has guided 3 Ph.D. Students during this period. In addition to teaching, she has shown an equal flair for Research and Innovation which has led to her filing of more than 60 patents, some of which has been commercialized while others are in pipeline to be taken up by Industries so that her excellent research accomplishments can reach from “Lab to Land”.

Dr. Harsha Kharkwal completed her B.Sc. in Microbiology, Zoology, and Chemistry (1996), followed by M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry (1998) from Kumaun University, Nainital.
She did her Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry (2004) at National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow, and thesis executed under the doctoral advisor of Dr. V. P. Kapoor (Supervisor) and Dr. Mahesh Pal[4] (Co-Supervisor).
Career[edit]
Dr. Harsha has been associated with research and development in the field of Natural Products Chemistry and is currently working at Amity Institute of Phytomedicine and Phytochemistry, Amity University, Noida as a Director. She had joined Amity University as a lecturer[5] around the time of its inception in 2005.
Personal life[edit]
Dr. Harsha was born in the city of Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India and and is native of Uttarkhand. She is the eldest daughter of Shri Ramesh Chandra [Joshi], (1949-……), who was associated with National Institute of Rural Development and Mrs. Manju Joshi (1953-……) was a senior Hindi Teacher with a private school. Her younger brother Girish Joshi is Deputy Manager at ICICI living in Hyderabad. Dr. Harsha Kharkwal is married to Dr. Amit Kharkwal[6], Deputy Director at Amity Institute of Microbial Technology, Amity University, Noida and they together have one son and one daughter.
