Hazis Lila
Haziz Lila (in Albanian: Haziz Lila 1875–1915) was an Albanian religious and educational activist from Gollobordë.
Biography
Lila was born in the village of Steblevë, Ottoman Empire, now Albania. He studied in Istanbul and worked as a French teacher in Gostivar, Struga, and later became the director of a school in Debar. He later became a mufti and developed a broad educational and patriotic activity before the declaration of Albania's independence. He illegally distributed books in Albanian and opposed Serbian propaganda in present-day Albania. He participated in the Congress of Dibra as a representative of Gollobordë (together with Dan Agë Cami and Hasan Moglica). Due to his patriotic activity, he was abducted by Serbian soldiers and shot on June 7, 1915.[1][2][3]
