Hazrat Syed Shah Nasiruddin
Hazrat Shah Syed Nasiruddin was a Sipahsalar saint and Islamic preacher of 1345, born in Baghdad in present-day Iraq.[1] After Hulagu Khan destroyed Baghdad, he left the city in search of livelihood and ultimately reached Delhi, India. Later, he participated in the Sylhet expedition with commander Sikandar Khan and Shah Jalal. Syed Nasiruddin was a follower of the Suhrawardiyya tariqa (order). There are many legends about his supernatural powers. At Shah Jalal's direction, accompanied by twelve saints, he attacked and defeated king Achak Narayan of Taraf and became administrator there. His shrine is at Murabandh Taraf in Habiganj District, Bangladesh.[2]
