Healthcare Research & Analytics (HRA) is a consultative market research practice, based in Parsippany, New Jersey. HRA offers market research services to the healthcare sector. The company offers quantitative, qualitative, custom, and syndicated market research services to pharmaceutical, biotech, pharmacy, and medical device businesses.[1]

HRA was founded in 1974 as Hospital Research Associates. The company was acquired in 2004 by MJH Healthcare Holdings LLC and was renamed to Healthcare Research & Analytics in 2011. The company has 27 employees.[1]

Since 1997, HRA has worked with Pharmacy Times to conduct an annual survey of pharmacists over-the-counter recommendations. The results are published as a resource for pharmacists and consumers in Pharmacy Times’ OTC Guide and through U.S. News & World Report’s Health Products website.[2]

In February 2014, Procter & Gamble used HRA to survey doctors about patients’ sleep struggles, stating that 57 percent of doctors polled reported one of patients’ biggest hindrances to falling asleep is engaging in electronics too close to bedtime.[3]
