Hedith Perdomo
Hedith Perdomo is a Colombian painter and visual artist known for her oil paintings depicting natural scenery.[1]
Biography
Perdomo was born in Facatativá, Colombia, and later relocated to a hacienda in Venezuela when civil war broke out.[2] At a young age, Perdomo found an interest in art that was inspired by her experience growing up surrounded by wildlife and vegetation on the hacienda.[3]
Perdomo attended boarding school in Bogotá until she moved to Caracas after marrying an attorney, with whom she had five children.[2] After giving birth to the last of her children, severe and worsening joint pain began to afflict Perdomo.[3] Diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Perdomo lost the ability to walk at the age of thirty-eight.[2]
In 2003, Perdomo started having private art lessons as a form of therapy with Venezuelan artist Naty Valle.[2]
In 2014, Perdomo moved to the United States[1] after political unrest erupted in Venezuela.[3][4] After living for some years in Memphis, Tennessee, Perdomo moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she currently resides.[2]
