Jeon Hee-jin (Hangul: 전희진; born October 19, 2000), known as Heejin (Hangul: 희진) is a South Korean singer and dancer. She is known as a member of the girl group LOOΠΔ.
Early life
Heejin was born October 19, 2000 in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi province, South Korea. She is the youngest daughter and has two older sisters. She has liked dancing since a young age and decided to become a singer in middle school. Though she was rejected by many auditions, in 2015 she was contacted by her current company, BlockBerry Creative, through social media. After a year and a half of training, she was selected to be in LOONA. [1]
Career
The project of her group, LOONA, involves debuting one member per month. Heejin was the first, with her teasers being published on the Loona's YouTube channel. The first teaser was released September 26, titled "Seoul Teaser," followed by the teaser for her song "ViViD" and, on October 3, the "Paris Teaser." On October 5, her solo album, "HeeJin," was released, along with the music video for "ViViD" and its acoustic version, recorded in France. Signing events for the album occurred on October 8, October 16, October 22, November 5, and January 15. [2]
She made a duet with her fellow group member Hyunjin, called "I'll Be There," the second track of the single album "HyunJin," released November 17, along with the music video. On December 15, she featured in a Christmas song called "The Carol" from the single album "HaSeul." Another duet with Hyunjin, "My Sunday," was released on January 17, being the second track of YeoJin's album.
In February 2017, the teaser for the new sub-unit of the group LOONA, named LOOΠΔ 1/3, consisting of Heejin, Hyunjin, Haseul, and ViVi, was released. The unit was released March 13 with its first extended play and music video called |Love&Live. The special music video for the third track, "You and Me Together," was released March 20. The repackage album of the sub-unit, Love&Evil, was released April 27 with the promotional single "Sonatime." On July 7, the special music video for the third track, "Rain 51db," was released.
On July 10, a special version of "Singing in the Rain," the original single by Jinsoul, was released featuring Heejin.
Currently, she is a competitor on the survival show MixNine, along with Hyunjin. In the group audition, she danced "Mr. Chu" and "Free Somebody." She received first place in the fans' pre-voting, and the full video of her individual dance audition was posted on the official channel of the show on the Korean video broadcasting site Naver TV.
