Heinz Lettau

Heinz Lettau was a German and American meteorologist, meteorology professor at University of Wisconsin[1]. He served in both the United States Air Force and German Luftwaffe Air Force[2].
Early life[edit]
Heinz Lettau was born on December 6, 1909 in Konigsberg, Germany[3] (now Kaliningrad, Russia). He had one brother[4].
Lettau's paternal grandfather was a forest ranger for East Prussian Count Lindorff. His maternial grandfather worked at a post office.
Lettau's father and mother managed a small dairy distribution company.
