Hemmersbach is a global device as a service provider for the IT industry. Device as a service (DaaS combines IT hardware, software, lifecycle services and financing into a single contract with a fee per device). Hemmersbach has an indirect business model and is only working for outsourcing companies and manufacturers in the IT industry.[2][3] The company is headquartered in Nuremberg, Germany, and has subsidiaries in 40 countries.[4] In 2018, Hemmersbach has over 4,000 permanent employees.[5]

The Hemmersbach group consolidates two subgroups, Hemmersbach Worldwide GmbH and Viatis Beteiligungs GmbH.

History[edit]

In 1996, Ralph Koczwara started the IT services business in southern Germany, after leaving high school.[6][7] In 2000, he bought the brand Hemmersbach as an enabler to offer IT services nationally. In 2007, the first international subsidiary was opened in Wroclaw, Poland, and the expansion of the company outside of Germany had started. With the foundation of the Singapore entity in 2015, Hemmersbach is now represented on all continents with subsidiaries in 48 countries.[8][9][10] Hemmersbach's major customers include Lenovo, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, HCL Technologies, and Apple Inc.

Awards[edit]

In the Financial Times article "FT 1000: Europe's Fastest Growing Company" from 2017, Hemmersbach reached a place in the top 10 companies with a total turnover of more than €100 million, in the category of "Technology".[11] Further, Hemmersbach was awarded „Bayerns Best 50“ prize three times (2013, 2016 and 2019) as one of the fastest growing companies in the Bavarian region.[12][13][14]

Hemmersbach Direct Action[edit]

As an enterprise, Hemmersbach invests 20% of their profits into ecological and humanitarian Direct Action projects.[15] All programs are therefore financed not through donations and the work done by Hemmersbach employees.

"Hemmersbach Rhino Force" is a direct action conservation organization that protects South African rhinos from extinction. It includes an "Elite Anti-Poaching Unit" that helps prevent the killing of rhinos.[7] They have also been instrumental in setting up a biobank, known as "Hemmersbach Rhino Force Cryovault",[16]that aims to preserve rhino genes. Furthermore, the "Black Rhino Reintroduction" project aims, as the name suggests, to reintroduce black rhinos into the Mid Zambezi Valley in Zimbabwe.[17][18][19]

"Hemmersbach Kids' Family" was founded in 2018 with the aim to support children who live under bad conditions. Through direct actions, the project focuses on providing children with better living conditions, access to education and psychological and medical care.[20]
