Henry August, Count of Stolberg-Schwarza (German: Heinrich August zu Stolberg-Schwarza; 17 June 1697, Gerden – 14 September 1748, Hersfeld-Rotenburg) was a German (Graf) count.
Life[edit]
Henry August was born on 17 June 1697 in Gedern, Hesse, to Louis Christian, Count of Stolberg-Gedern and Christine of Mecklenburg-Güstrow. Henry was the seventh of twenty-three children.
Marriages and descendants[edit]
Henry married Ernestine Emilie Reuß-Untergreiz (1705-1728) on 14 November 1725, in Greiz, Thuringia.
- Christine Henriette Elisabeth, Countess von Stolberg-Wernigerode (30 June 1726 - 13 December 1785), married Georg Von Schlitz-Görtz; had issue.[1]
- Auguste Ernestine, Countess von Stolberg-Wernigerode (18 April 1728 – 12 July 1729).
Henry married Friederike Charlotte von Hohenlohe-Ingelfingen 19 October 1729, inIngelfingen, Stuttgart. Friederike was the daughter of Christian Kraft, Count of Hohenlohe-Ingelfingen and Countess Maria Katharina Sophie zu Hohenlohe-Waldenburg. Henry remained married to Friederike till his death and the marriage was childless.
Death[edit]
Henry died on 14 September 1748, in Hersfeld-Rotenburg, Hesse. Due to the fact August had no legitimate male heirs the Stolberg-Schwarza was absolved into the Stolberg-Gedern line.[2]
