Hermith GmbH is a German limited liability company (Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung) headquartered in Munich, Germany. Founded in 2004, the company is registered at the Local Court of Munich (Amtsgericht München) under commercial register number HRB 176384.[1] Hermith is active in the manufacture and supply of titanium semi-finished products used in aerospace and other industrial applications.[2]

Industry publications have reported on Hermith’s activities in titanium processing, including the development of titanium wire for additive manufacturing.[3]

History

Founding and early activities

Hermith GmbH was founded on 30 January 2004.[4] According to industry reporting, the company initially operated as a trader and stockholder of titanium materials before later expanding into processing and manufacturing activities.[5]

Transition to manufacturing

According to Metal AM, after approximately thirteen years of trading activity Hermith launched its own TÜV-certified production facility in 2017, enabling the company to offer customised titanium products.[6]

In an interview published by Wirtschaftsforum, Managing Director Alexey Rasskazov stated that Hermith began its own production activities in 2015 and has supplied Europe with its own products since 2016, describing the company’s transition from titanium trading to vertically integrated manufacturing.[7]

Corporate and registered changes

Commercial register publications indicate that Hermith transferred its registered seat from Ingolstadt to Munich in 2008. In January 2018, a shareholders’ resolution amended the company’s articles of association and updated the company’s business address to Englmannstraße 2, 81673 Munich.[8]

Operations and products

Product portfolio

In an interview with Wirtschaftsforum, Hermith described its product portfolio as including titanium semi-finished products, with a focus on tubes, as well as bars, rods, plates, discs and blocks. The company stated that products are supplied in dimensions cut to customer specifications.[9]

Independent aerospace supplier directories also list Hermith as a manufacturer of titanium bars, plates, tubes and wire.[10]

Additive manufacturing materials

Metal AM has reported on Hermith’s research into improving the manufacture of Ti-6Al-4V titanium wire for use as additive manufacturing feedstock. The publication describes process work involving induction heating and process control based on temperature and acoustic emission monitoring, with the aim of improving microstructural consistency and reducing defects such as welded joints. The report also notes that low deformation rates observed during trials extended production time and affected economic feasibility.[11]

Conference proceedings published by the International Titanium Association (ITA) for Titanium Europe 2019 state that Hermith developed and patented a “warm wire drawing” technology in 2018 for producing titanium wire for additive manufacturing. According to the proceedings, the process increases deformation speed compared with cold drawing and reduces the need for intermediate annealing stages.[12]

The same ITA publication reports that Hermith presented a modular wire production line design to Norsk Titanium and announced an initial agreement for the supply of titanium wire, with further qualification activities by other aerospace companies ongoing at the time of the presentation.[13]

Markets and industries served

Industry sources describe Hermith’s titanium products as being used in several sectors, including aerospace, automotive, industrial and medical applications.[14] In interviews, the company has named aerospace and industrial customers; however, such references are presented as company statements rather than independently verified client lists.[15]

Corporate structure and management

Hermith GmbH is legally represented by its managing directors (Geschäftsführer). Commercial register sources list Alexey Rasskazov as a managing director since 25 November 2008, and Iulia Arabagi as an additional managing director since 16 January 2025.[16]

Associations and exhibitions

Hermith GmbH is listed as a member of the Bundesverband der Deutschen Luft- und Raumfahrtindustrie (BDLI), the German aerospace industries association.[17]

The company has also been listed as an exhibitor or participant at several international industry events and trade fairs, including the Farnborough International Airshow 2024,[18] the Singapore Airshow 2026 (German Pavilion),[19] the Future Minerals Forum 2024 in Riyadh,[20] and ILA Berlin 2024.[21]
