Herobed is a privately held, U.S. based, e-commerce company that sells hybrid mattresses online. Headquartered in Humble, Texas[1], the company exclusively sells their products online through their website and the mattresses are manufactured in North Carolina.

History[edit]

Herobed launched in October 2016[2] by Jeff Quinn (previously vice president of stores at Mattress Firm[3][4]) and Mark Quinn (previously vice president of marketing for Residential Home Furnishings at Leggett & Platt[5][6]).

In March 2017, the company officially launched and began selling their hybrid mattresses online[7].

Product[edit]

Herobed mattresses consist of six layers of material. From top to bottom, the mattress is made from a knitted fabric cover, cooling gel memory foam, comfort pocket coils (similar to innerspring mattress coils, but more conforming to your body), a transitional foam layer, support coils for underlying support, and a base foam layer[8]. Herobed mattresses are only available for purchase online. Each mattress has been sold with a 100-night return policy and returned mattresses are donated or recycled locally.[9]

Delivery[edit]

Herobed mattresses are condensed at the manufacturer and shipped via FedEx in a box a little larger that the size of a minibar[10] for portability. The mattress expands after the unboxing process. The mattresses vary in weight from 65 lbs for a Twin sized mattress and up to 138 lbs for a Cal King sized mattress.[11]
