Hey Moon

Script error: No such module "AfC submission catcheck". "Hey Moon" is a song by Swedish singer/songwriter Molly Nilsson, which first appeared on her debut album These Things Take Time in 2008. In 2011, the song was covered by American musician John Maus, which uses a sample of Nilsson's original recording, for his album We Must Become the Pitiless Censors of Ourselves. Maus's version received positive reviews from critics.

In 2021, in response to the 2021 storming of the United States Capitol, which Maus was reported to have attended, Nilsson re-released "Hey Moon" as a 7" single, with all proceeds from the record being donated to Black Lives Matter. Nilsson made a statement that "In case anyone was wondering, I'm a lifelong supporter of Antifa. Like most of us, I was appalled by what we saw in DC this week and by the people present there. In response to this DSA and Night School Records have decided to release a 7” single of my original song Hey Moon (2008), with ALL PROFITS from the sale donated to BLACK LIVES MATTER worldwide."
