Namron Holder, professionally known as HighKeyRandom, is an artist and songwriter from Massachusetts. He is best known for his album Love Parade, which featured production from Humbeats (Dave East, OG Maco, Tsu Surf, Rob $tone).

Early life

HighKeyRandom grew up in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. He attended Holland Elementary School in Dorchester before moving to Malden, where he attended two different middle schools.[1]. Though he first got into music through the krumping scene, he quickly began recording music and releasing music videos as a freshman at Newton South High School[2]. He received the nickname "Random" because of his spontaneous nature, and "HighKey" from the rap group he formed in freshman year of high school with his close friend Devante Williams[3].

Career

2011-2016: Balloons EP

Although he released various unofficial mixtapes and music videos from 2011-2015, HighKeyRandom's first official mixtape, Balloons EP, was released in September 2016. The six-track EP featured production by LDG Beats (Amine, Cousin Stizz, Vintage Lee) and MallDidIt (YBN Nahmir, Soulja Boy, Yung Gleesh), and was highlighted by its video single, "Christmas"[4]

2017-2018: Jewelry and Love Parade

His second mixtape, Jewelry, was released less than a year after Balloons EP[5]. He released two video singles for the album, "Woah Woah" and "Uncle Fester", which received press from The Source and ThisIs50. [6][7]

Between Jewelry and HighKeyRandom's third mixtape, Love Parade, he released three singles, "Stone Cold Stunna", "Year Round", and "Had To" [8]. "Year Round" became his first single to receive radio play, as it featured on New England's 88.7FM and Boston iHeartRadio affiliate Jam'n 94.5.

Love Parade, his third mixtape, was released in September 2018[9]. HighKeyRandom released videos for "Needy", "Don't Mean It", "Things to Prove", and "Broken Heart", and the album received over 500,000 streams across SoundCloud, Spotify, and YouTube.

2018-present: The Gentle Savage

In the 6 months following the success of Jewelry, HighKeyRandom signed an artist development deal with United Talent Agency and released a dozen singles[10]. In advance of The Gentle Savage (August 2019), he released two Soundcloud mixtapes in July 2019, Savage (July 8) and Gentle (July 23).
