High place phenomenon

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

High place phenomenon is the sudden urge to jump from a great height. Researchers from Florida State University found significant correlation between the high place phenomenon and anxiety sensitivity.

People who experience the phenomenon are not necessarily suicidal. The researchers proposed that the fear circuitry reacts to potential danger, but the slower perceptual system misinterprets the signal as a desire to jump. [1]
