Hirsh Vardhan Singh is an American engineer, businessmen, and candidate for Governor of New Jersey[1][2][3] in the 2017 election. He was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey to parents who immigrated to the United States from India and speaks Hindi. Hirsh attended Egg Harbor Township High School and then studied engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology,[4] where he was a member of the Tau Delta Phi fraternity. His campaign has alleged mishandling and corruption of petition filings by the Passaic County Republican Party.[5].

Hirsh's maternal grandfather is Hukum Singh, who is currently serving in the Parliament of India. Hirsh's paternal grandfather was Dr. Naunihal Singh, who was a published author, lecturer at Stockton University, and served as a member of the Parliament of India.[6]
