Hitesh Goswami
pronunciation (help·info); (born 19 November 1972) is an Indian cricket coach and former cricketer. He played four first-class matches for Saurashtra cricket team between 1998 and 2003. In 2023, he was appointed as the head coach of the Chhattisgarh cricket team in 2022.
Playing career
Goswami represented Saurashtra cricket team in the Ranji Trophy from 1998 to 2003, participating in four first-class matches. He was a right-arm fast-medium bowler and a right-handed middle-order batsman. In the 1997–98 season, he also played in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Tripura. Additionally, Goswami played club cricket in England, representing teams such as Crouch End Cricket Club, M.T.S.S.C. Cricket Club, and Mill Hill Cricket Club.
Coaching career
After retiring from professional play, Goswami pursued a career in coaching. He holds multiple coaching certifications, including:
BCCI Level 1 (2001)
BCCI Level 2 (2004)
BCCI Level 3 (2010)
Cricket Australia Level 3 Course (2017)
In August 2017, Goswami was appointed as the coach for the India Under-16 cricket team [1] camp held in Bengaluru. He had previously coached the Saurashtra Under-23 team and worked with the Middlesex Cricket Board in the UK for five years.
In 2023, Goswami took on the role of head coach for the Chhattisgarh cricket team. Under his guidance, players like Shashank Singh have credited him for significant improvements in their performance.[2]
