Protestant Church of St. Jacob

The Hitler bell (German: Hitler-Glocke) is a bell dedicated to Adolf Hitler in the Protestant Church of St. Jacob[1] in Herxheim am Berg.[2]

The bell bears the inscription "ALL FOR THE FATHERLAND - ADOLF HITLER" ("ALLES FUER'S VATERLAND - ADOLF HITLER") next to a swastika.[3] The local council voted to keep it as memorial.[4] [5] The bell was originally non-clerical, an alarm bell (Polizeiglocke).[6]

Other Nazi bells[edit]

A Nazi inscription has been recently removed by an anonymous person from a bell in Schweringen. The bell became unusable.[7]

The local community in Faßberg is divided regarding preservation of a swastika on a bell in St. Michael's Church.[8]
