Biography[edit]
Pratt was born in Spokane, Washington in 1999 or 2000, the daughter of Gavin and Sarah Pratt.[1][2] She was raised in Liberty Lake, Washington, and attended Liberty Lake Elementary School, Greenacres Middle School and Central Valley High School (CVHS).[2] While in high school, Pratt won academic honors in Social Studies through the Spokane Scholars Foundation.[3]
After graduating from CVHS in 2018, Pratt began attendance at the United States Military Academy (West Point).[2] As military history major with a minor in Middle Eastern Regional Studies, Pratt's undergraduate research focused on coordination between military, civilian, and international organizations to prevent or mitigate the impact of mass atrocities.[4] During her college career, Pratt received awards for classroom performance and academic research.[4] She earned the Dean's Pentathlete Award five times for receiving an "A" in every graded academic, military and physical event in a single semester.[4] She was also a recipient of the Superintendent's Award for Excellence, which is presented to cadets who attain the top 5% of their class academically, militarily and physically.[4] In addition, Pratt was captain of the academy's handball team.[4]
In August 2021, Pratt was selected to serve as cadet first captain, the highest rank in the cadet chain of command, for the 2021–2022 school year.[2] The seventh woman to serve in this position, she was responsible for the overall performance of over 4,000 cadets, including implementing a class schedule and serving as the primary liaison between the academy's administrative and academic leaders and the corps of cadets.[2]
Pratt graduated from West Point in May 2022 and received her commission as a second lieutenant.[5] She was selected for a Rhodes Scholarship and intended to earn master of science degrees in Global Governance and Diplomacy, and in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies.[4]
