Holvi is an online banking service, based in Helsinki, Finland. Holvi was founded by Kristoffer Lawson and Tuomas Toivonen in 2011, and provides entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized businesses with a range of business services as well as traditional banking through its online platform.[2] According to Maaseudun Tulevaisuus, Holvi offers SMEs an alternative to traditional banks, with a business account, a payment card, a bookkeeping tool, a billing application and an online store.[3] Card access can be managed via a smartphone app, which also includes notifications of any charge on the card.[4]

In December 2014 Forbes magazine put it on a list of "5 Finnish Startups To Watch".[8]

Holvi partnered wih the Government of Estonia to provide businesss banking services to people using the country's e-residency programme.[9][10][11]

Holvi uses a system from GBG for online identity verification.[12] Holvi is authorised by the Financial Supervisory Authority of Finland for operations across the European Union.[12]
