Hoodz9 born all the way in Eritrea spent the better part of his young life in Kenya. Upon moving to Canada in 2011 as a young teen Hoodz9 was quickly required to learn English as a first language, something he did with the help of music. With an early start of singing melodies and writing poems he was able to feel out and ultimately develop his own undeniably unique sound. Early influences that helped shape Hoodz9’s appreciation of rap were acts such as Joey Badass, Schoolboy Q and others. The oldest of three siblings and with their father out of the picture Hoodz9 was very quickly required to handle all sorts of responsibilities.
