Hansung "Hooranky" Bae[1] (Korean : 후랭키) is a Korean artist. He is a painter working on abstract expressionism based on digital media.
Early life[edit]
Hooranky's real name is Hansung Bae. Born on 1958 in Gwangju, Jeollanam-do. His parents were father, painter Dong-shin Bae, and mother Yeon-gyu Kim majored in piano at Seoul National University. Hooranky learned the piano as a child and grew up influenced by music and art. In 1976, all families moved to Seoul.

Graduated from Seoseok Elementary School, Bukseong Middle School, Kumho High School, and Chugye University for the Arts Department of Western Painting.
Activity[edit]
Since 1986, He worked in an art group called "Pyo-San-Gjeon" created by university alumni. In addition, he worked as an assistant to his father, a painter. From 1996 to 10 years, he traveled to Rome, Eastern European cities, New York, Iwaki, Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, Bangkok and Chiang Mai. And he has been working in Seoul since 2007. Five works by Hooranky, which produced a series of digital images in 2019, As a living artist, he has recorded the highest priced contracts.[2][3][4] Continuously Dec. of the same year, hooranky's work was sold for high end price on "Spot auction"[5][6][7] hosted by the global Lotte Department Store in Korea. Hooranky's effect has led other department stores in Korea to benchmark their art sales.[8][9][10]
Recent activity[edit]
On October 14, 2020, Jeon Tae-il's labor activist's "50th anniversary memorial month" was declared.[11] Hooranky dedicated a digital art piece with Jeon Tae-il as a motif and interviewed With Yonhap News.[12]
Concept[edit]
Hooranky wants his visual balance to match the harmony of the unknown world. Hooranky is a leading artist in abstract expressionism with digital as a media. And he wants his work to be friendly with many people online.
