The Hornsby Chain Track Tractor was a caterpillar-tracked military vehicle (and perhaps the first one) developed by Richard Hornsby & Sons from 1906. The patent for the transmission and drivetrain would lead to the first development of the tank in 1915, another Lincolnshire innovation.
