Hot Mulligan is an American pop-punk band based in Lansing, Michigan. The band was formed in 2014 and has released three EPs and a split-7" with Everyone Leaves. The band will release their debut full-length Pilot on March 23, 2018 through No Sleep Records.

History[edit]

Formation (2014-2016)[edit]

After forming in 2014, Hot Mulligan released two EPs in 2015: Fenton and Honest & Cunning. The following year, they released a split with Everyone Leaves before getting ready to release their EP, Opportunities.

Opportunities and signing to No Sleep Records (2016-2017)[edit]

On November 15, 2016, Hot Mulligan premiered the first single to Opportunities on Washed Up Emo.[1]. Shortly after, they premiered the song "If You Had Spun Out In Your Oldsmobile This Probably Wouldn't Have Happened" with 36Vultures[2]. The band released Opportunities on December 16, 2016 through Michigan DIY label Save Your Generation Records[3]

In March of 2017, Hot Mulligan announced that they will be co-headlining a tour with Belmont during the summer.[4] Around the same time, the band took their Opportunities EP off of streaming platforms[5] and shortly returned by re-releasing Opportunities via signing with No Sleep Records.[6] The Opportunities re-release comes with one extra song "Deluxe Capacitor (Acoustic)" which is on the band's first full-length album Pilot as a full-band rendition.

Pilot (2017-2018)[edit]

In August of 2017, Hot Mulligan entered the studio with ex-the Swellers frontman Nick Diener to record the band's first full-length album before they left for tour with Coldfront.[7] On December 29, 2017, Hot Mulligan opened the first of two Knuckle Puck and Real Friends holiday shows[8]. In December of 2017, it was announced that Hot Mulligan would be supporting Knuckle Puck on their spring headlining tour.[9]

On January 18, 2018, Hot Mulligan premiered the first single to their debut album with Alternative Press.[10] The song was "All You Wanted By Michelle Branch." Despite its title, the song is not a cover, and the singer Michelle Branch posted a screenshot of the article on her Instagram story.[11]

The second single "The Soundtrack to Missing A Slam Dunk" premiered with Substream Magazine on February 15, 2018.[12]

Pilot is set to release on March 23, 2018 via No Sleep Records.
