Hotel Sisimiut is a hotel located at Aqqusinersuaq 86, in the northeastern outskirts of Sisimiut, Greenland. It is used regularly for conferences and contains one of the most notable restaurants in the town, Restaurant Nasaasaaq[1] and Bar Aaveq.[2][3] The hotel, which overlooks the sea also functions as a tour operator.[4][4][5][6][7] [8]
Features & Amenities
The hotel features 40 rooms, ranging from basic to well-furnished options. Many have mountain, sea, or fjord views.[4][5][6]
Restaurant Nasaasaaq and Bar Aaveq are located on-site, specializing in Greenlandic cuisine serving musk ox, reindeer, and fresh seafood.[4][5][6][8]
The hotel has an Arctic Spa with a sauna and an outdoor wilderness hot tub, often used to view the Northern Lights or midnight sun.[4][5] The property has conference facilities capable of hosting groups of up to 50 people.[4][5]
The hotel operates its own tour department, Visit Sisimiut, offering year-round activities: Winter: Dog sledding, snowmobiling, and Northern Lights tours. Summer: Hiking (including the famous Arctic Circle Trail), boat trips, whale safaris, and fly-fishing. Hiker Services: Special deals are available for those completing the Arctic Circle Trail, including laundry services and a community "guest-to-guest" box for gear like gas canisters.[4][5][6]
