Huda Mu'min (born June 9, 1981), known professionally as Chef Huda, is an American chef, television personality and food and entertainment writer. She appeared on season one of the ABC series The Taste and on season six of the Food Network series Cutthroat Kitchen. She currently resides in Maryland.

Early Life[edit]

Huda Mu'min was born in Northampton, Massachusetts and was raised in a completely organic household. She began cooking at the age of six.[1]

Education and Training[edit]

After graduating from the University of Maryland with a degree in Behavioral Sciences. Chef Huda attended Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, where she honed her culinary skills and graduated top of her class.

Career[edit]

Chef Huda Mu'min is blazing a new trail in the culinary world. She is the Record-Setting Champion of Food Network's "Cutthroat Kitchen" and a favorite on ABC's Emmy nominated show, "The Taste" with Anthony Bourdain, Nigella Lawson, Brian Malarkey and Ludo Lefebvre. She has been a featured as judge on CNBC series, Power Pitch.[2] . As the host of the award-winning show, "The Kitchen Table Series" on TV One with Holly Robinson Pete and Tisha Campbell-Martin, Chef Huda is a culinary powerhouse to watch.[3]

​ Huda Mu'min serves as the Executive Chef at The Just Savor Restaurant Group, which is a culinary company specializing in special event and culinary focused experiences located in Washington, D.C. She is Founder of Chef Huda's Kitchen (CHK), an innovative and culturally conscious company specializing in Healthy Comfort Food.

Chef Huda's love for the culinary arts presented itself at the young age of six. A native of Massachusetts, she was raised in an organic and multicultural household, which piqued her interest in diverse food knowledge and influenced her culinary creativity. Her mission is to educate, empower, and inspire people through food. ​ A proud graduate of the University of Maryland and the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu, where she finished at the top of her class. She is also an alumna of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program. Chef Huda has worked amongst the best in the industry. Huda was a contestant and fan favorite on the first season of The Taste[4] ABC's Emmy nominated show, hosted by Anthony Bourdain, Nigella Lawson, Brian Malarkey and Ludo Lefebvre.

Cutthroat Kitchen[edit]

Chef Huda gained naturual notoriety, as the Record-Setting Champion of Food Network's "Cutthroat Kitchen" with Alton Brown. During the “S’Mortal Combat” episode,[5] Huda won $23,900 the largest prize earnings of a contestant in the history of the show.
