Huggly (book series)

Huggly (aka The Monster Under the Bed) is a series of Scholastic children's picture books written and illustrated by Tedd Arnold.

The series focuses on a cute and pudgy green monster named Huggly with a yellow tummy, who lives under the People Child's bed. His best friends, Booter and Grubble are in most books, although they do not appear in Huggly Gets Dressed or Huggly Takes a Bath.

Main characters[edit]

  • Huggly - A cute and pudgy male green monster and the main protagonist of the series. He is very shy, sweet and somewhat klutzy. His two best friends are Booter and Grubble. He has a yellow belly, orange spots, and darker green scales on his back.
  • Booter - An energetic female purple monster who is one of Huggly's best friends. She is very sweet like Huggly. She has a yellow belly, red stripes, and lighter purple scales on her back.
  • Grubble - A stressy male orange monster who is Huggly's other best friend. He doesn't like scary places or bad dreams. He has a yellow belly, and magenta spots and shaggy hair.
  • The People Child - A young boy who lives in Huggly's bedroom.
