Humming Airways is an Argentine airline founded in April 2024 by a group led by Francisco Simón Errecart. The company was created to link cities with limited aviation infrastructure through the use of efficient, smaller aircraft.[1]
The airline's slogan is "Connecting flights" (Spanish: "Vuelos que conectan").[2]
History
Humming Airways was founded in 2024 to connect mainly industrially strong cities with the Jorge Newbery Airport, in Buenos Aires. Initially the cities served were: Venado Tuerto, Junín, Olavarría, and Tandil.[3]
Humming Airways’ inaugural flight took place on December 27, 2024, connecting Jorge Newbery Airport in Buenos Aires with the cities of Venado Tuerto and Villa María. The event was attended by government officials including Federico Sturzenegger, Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation, and Daniel Scioli, Secretary of Tourism, Environment, and Sports.[4]
Regular operations began in February 2025, with flights between Buenos Aires and Venado Tuerto, Villa María, Olavarría and Tandil for corporate passengers.[4][5]
The first scheduled commercial flight of the airline was scheduled for 17 April 2025 between Jorge Newbery Airport and Olavarría, but the flight was unable to complete its route due to a dense fog that covered the city and prevented landing. The plane rerouted to Tandil.[6]
The airline has announced to plant one tree for every flight operated, with the goal of reducing its environmental impact.[5]
Fleet
Humming Airways initially operates a Fairchild Swearingen Metro 23, registered as LV-ZXA, with a capacity for 19 passengers. The aircraft is leased from Royal Class and is suitable for operations at airports with limited infrastructure, in line with the airline's strategy of connecting cities underserved by traditional carriers.[1]
Destinations
Humming Airways currently operates from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery, offering flights that connect two inland cities in one loop before returning to Buenos Aires:[7][2][8]
