"Hurricane Starang"is the second single from O.G.C.'s 1996 debut album Da Storm. It is a solo by group member Starang Wondah (Jack McNair). Background vocals are provided by affiliate Rock of Heltah Skeltah. The song was produced by Mr. Walt of Da Beatminerz.
Composition[edit]
Hurricane Starang is played at a speed of 90 BPM. It contains samples of New Spaces by the John Payne band, Leflaur Leflah Eshkoshka by The Fab 5, and Past Roads by the Gary Burton Quartet. The song is a solo performed by the group's leader, Starang Wondah. Rock of Heltah Skeltah provides backgroud vocals.
Music video[edit]
The song's video takes on an apocalyptic theme. Starang and Rock are in some sort of prison for the first half of the video, intercut with scenes of the two rapping in what looks like a warehouse. At the 2:10 mark, the song switches to another track called Danjer. This part of the video involves Louieville Sluggah and Top Dog disguising themselves as guards to rescue the two. The video ends with "to be continued..."
Charts[edit]
Unlike their first single, No Fear, Hurricane Starang failed to chart.
