The Huygens Landing Site is a site on Saturn’s moon Titan, that the Huygens probe landed on in 2005.[1]
History[edit]
On January 15, 2005[2], the Huygens probe landed on Saturn’s major moon Titan. Huygens landed in a location near the Adiri region, and lasted 2.5 hours on Titan’s surface, before its parent probe; Cassini, lost contact with the probe. [3]
Location[edit]
The Huygens Landing Site is located near the Adiri region (10°S 210°W), on some of Titan's many plains. Adiri is located to the west of the large, dark region of Shangri-la.[4]
Properties[edit]
The Huygens Landing Site is considered to be consisted of mainly Titanian rocks; as seen by Huygens panoramic images from Titan’s surface.
