Hyper Poland is a Polish company founded in 2017 by engineers who graduated from the Warsaw University of Technology. In the summer of 2017, acting as the Hyper Poland University Team, they built a hyperloop model which took part in the SpaceX Pod Competition II in California.[1]. In March 2018, the company was recognized as one of the best startups in the mobility sector in Europe[2].
The company develops the next generation of High-Speed Railways (HSR), based on magnetic levitation, linear motor and autonomous control systems, which can be subsequently transformed into a vacuum version. It is the only company in the world able to gradually implement hyperloop-inspired solutions as an upgrade for the railway industry.
The company has developed a patent-pending technology for a magrail system - a passive magnetic levitation train operating on existing conventional railway tracks at speeds of up to 300 kph and 415 kph on HSR lines. This solution allows for the functionality of both the magrail system and conventional trains on the same tracks. This can be subsequently transformed into a vacuum system - hyperrail, with a top speed of 600 kph on existing conventional tracks and 1000 kph on HSR lines. The last step will require new dedicated routes. These will enable the hyperloop to travel at up to 1,200 kph using subsystems tested in the first two generations[3]
In the first half of 2019 it secured a EUR 3.8 million grant from the Polish National Centre for Research and Development[4] and two pre-seed rounds on a UK equity crowdfunding platform Seedrs of EUR 820k total[5]. The planned route runs from Los Angeles, California to Las Vegas, Nevada.
