Hyperproof is a Bellevue, Washington-based software company founded in 2018 that develops compliance operations SaaS software.[1][2] The Hyperproof platform provides tools to adhere to data privacy and cybersecurity frameworks, track and manage organizational risks, and prepare for audits on a continuous basis.[2] [3]

History[edit]

The company was founded in 2018 by Craig Unger after he left Azuqua, another software company he co-founded, which was acquired by Okta the same year.[1] During the COVID-19 pandemic, Hyperproof offered software free of charge as one of the many organizations trying to assist companies as the pandemic altered normal operations. [4] During the Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2022, the company offered its software free of charge again, limited to organizations that are a part of the 16 critical infrastructure sectors defined by Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency.[3]

The company initially raised $10M over three seed rounds, starting with a $3M seed round backed by 23 angel investors in 2018.[5] In October 2021, Hyperproof raised $16.5M in a Series A round led by Toba Capital at $72.5M post-money valuation.[2]

Software[edit]

Hyperproof's software-as-a-service platform gives organizations tools for compliance operations, risk management, and vendor risk management. Users can leverage the platform to complete tasks like collecting evidence for audits, report progress to others with dashboards, and complete requirements for common cybersecurity frameworks like FedRAMP and SOX.[2] Companies using the platform can also document risk mitigation plans, map risks to compliance controls and requirements, and review security for vendors.[2]
